Our Classes

CLASSES OFFERED AT BLOSSOMING LOTUS:
- BEGINNERS YOGA is designed for those who are new to yoga and those students who want to revisit the basics. Students will learn the basic; core yoga poses as well as simple breathing techniques. The pace is slow and suitable for beginners.
- HATHA YOGA appeared in the 9th or 10th century and is responsible for the physical postures that the western world now knows. Hatha Yoga believes in creating polarities. The name Hatha, Ha= sun , tha = moon means the union of opposites. Classes incorporate the union between the body and breath.
- KID'S YOGA is offered for children ages 5-12. Children will learn yoga poses, games, and relaxation exercises. Many of the poses relate to nature, birds, and animals, which make yoga a natural interest for children. Classes allow children to develop a greater sense of body-awareness, social skills, concentration, and self-esteem.
- KRIPALU YOGA builds awareness using the body as a means to access the spirit. It is yoga of personal inner growth through the union of asana and breath. Kripalu teaches each individual to build a nurturing relationship with your body through compassion and gentleness.
- RESTORATIVE YOGA is gentle and passive poses (asanas) with attention to the breath. All other types of yoga are active. This type of yoga is deeply relaxing, relieves stress, and aids in recovery from injury or sickness. Through these gentle poses the student can reach a meditative state. Students will use props such as blankets, bolsters (yoga pillows), straps, and blocks to support the body comfortably while rejuvenating the body through restorative yoga.
- VINYASA FLOW YOGA is a faster paced class with a dynamic flowing sequence, similar to Ashtanga but free-flow fashion. Classes are unique in style and expression pulling from different styles and influences. Vinyasa means breathing and movement system. For each movement there is one breath. By linking the breath with each movement the body becomes hot allowing for greater circulation, taking away any body pains. Music is used to enhance the flow and spiritual experience of the class.
- KID'S YOGA (AGES 8+)
Kid's learn balancing poses, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to help build physical strength, emotional balance and self-esteem.
